Support the American Cancer Society/Daffodil Days and Relay for Life
Spring is right around the corner and with the season comes its’ first
flower and the perennial American Cancer Society symbol of hope for
cancer patients throughout the community….the daffodil.
The 2012 American Cancer Society’s “Daffodil Days” campaign officially
kicked off over the weekend at Emily’s Bed and Breakfast in Lattimer.
The fundraiser is expected to raise 40-thousand dollars locally and more
than 4-million dollars state-wide.
The dollars raised through Daffodil Days enable the American Cancer
Society to save more lives and create more birthdays by helping people
stay well, by finding cures and fighting back.
For a donation as little as $10 you will receive a bunch of 10
flowers..and bigger orders are also available.
This year also marks the addition of Shar N. Hope, the 7th in a special
Boyds Bear Collection designed exclusively for the American Cancer
Society Daffodil Days “Bear and a Bunch”.
To place your order…you can call 459-1212 before Monday, March 7.
and speaking of The American Cancer Society…although the weather might
not be great for taking steps outdoors, spring is right around the
corner and that means walkers are getting ready for the annual “Relay
For Life” with this year’s theme of “Celebrate America”.
Celebrate the lives of cancer survivors….remember those who have lost
their battle…support those in the midst of their fight…. and connect
with your community by forming your very own team…
This 24-hour event is calling on local businesses to form teams of six
to fifteen people…but this event is certainly not limited to
businesses…. anyone interested in helping with research and fighting
cancer can form team.
The event is scheduled for June first and second and will once again be
held at the Louis Schiavo City View Park.
For more information on how to form a team you can call 459-1248.
