Friday, high school students read to preschoolers at the 9th grade building in Hazleton School District. The high school students read their own hand drawn and published children’s story. Creative Writing Teacher, Pam Bromiley has been publishing her students’ writings for 3 semesters. This semester was a little different. Each book was written in memory of a child or teacher who was killed in the Sandy Hook Shooting. Hazleton Senior, Wil Mathis dedicated his book to 5 year old Noah Pozner, one of the 20 students who was shot and killed during the Sandy Hook Massacre. Noah was the same age as some of the preschoolers who sat and listened to the story written in his memory on Friday. The writings have always been donated to a needy organization, but after hearing about the devastation in Sandy Hook the class decided to donate 1 copy of the book to the families of the victims and 1 copy to the Sandy Hook Elementary Library.
