Isabel Miske doesn’t just read required books for school. She says she reads because it’s really cool!
That’s not an easy thing to say in a world that’s always growing more connected on tablets, smart phones and computers.
So in appreciation of Read Across America Day, the Pottsville Middle School and High School are teaming up. Juniors, like Isabel wrote and illustrustrated stories that are not only going to be featured in the Middle School Library, but could also make its way to a publishing house soon!
And it sounds so awesome that Pottsville Middle School Assistant President Michael Maley says he can’t wait for the entire Middle School to read it, himeself including. He adds that engaging students is the best way to get them to read.
The Middle School is also hosting a book sale that started Thursday. Librarian Chelius says they’re selling like hot cakes!
And don’t miss your chance to read any of the books the juniors wrote and illustrated. The Middle School Library is open to the public Monday night, 5:30-8.
