Officer Williams Update
Patrolman Matt Williams is back home as of Friday after spending the night in the hospital. He is recovering from a concussion and facial fractures that happened while he was on duty Thursday afternoon. Williams was asking 27-year-old Michael Mokshefski about a disturbance, and asked him to turn his vehicle off and when he wouldn’t officer Williams proceeded to do it himself. That’s when Mokshefski hit the gas, dragging the Patrolman along for the ride.Williams eventually fell from the vehicle, hitting his head and body and later was flown to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. Mokshefski fled from police before ditching his vehicle and taking off into the woods on foot.He was caught by State Police and faces a number of charges including aggravated assault; his bail was set at $100,000 cash.
