Hazleton Elks Give to Little League

Some Little Leaguers in the Hazleton area are pretty lucky after they
were given a very generous check. News 13 stopped by the Hazleton Elks
Lodge where the organization presented a check in the amount of
one-thousand dollars to the Little League Challenger Division. The team
is for local children with disabilities who are given the chance to hit
the diamond, just like all kids who want to play ball. The money comes
from a grant the Elks received Wednesday in the amount of two-thousand
dollars, and since the elks pride themselves in helping veterans and the
youth, the decision was easy. Club members and the Little League
president were both filled with excitement. This isn’t the only donation
the club plans to give. The additional one-thousand dollars will be
given to local boy scouts next week. As they say “giving is better than
receiving”. The Elks National Founding Committee Chairmen was on hand,
Tom Wagner, who helped secure the money.
