State police continue investigating what caused a pickup truck to run off East Diamond Avenue near the Stockton Road Saturday morning killing its driver, George Grega of Hazle Township. Police said the 51-year-old Grega, who was not wearing his seatbelt, was driving east when the truck veered off the roadway where it crashed into an embankment, several trees and a utility pole before coming to rest on its’ side. Troopers say Grega was dead when troopers arrived and a coroner was called to the scene. Deputy Coroner John Paletski ruled the death was due to multiple traumatic injuries and that no autopsy will be performed on the body. The accident closed down traffic between Hazle Springs and Stockton Road for several hours, re-opening around 1 p.m.
