Edward Zapata, 25, Hazleton was charged with 3 felony counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance and 3 felony counts of Criminal Use of a Communication Facility by the Hazleton City Police Department Narcotics Division.
Edward Zapata was taken into custody by the Hazleton City Police Department Patrol Division after a patrol officer observed Zapata in the area of Diamond Avenue and Seybert Street at approximately 1445 hours. The patrol officer was familiar Zapata and had knowledge that he was currently wanted for a parole violation as well as having a large amount of summary warrants.
The Hazleton City Police Department Narcotics Division had an active investigation on Zapata since January of 2019. Throughout the undercover operation Zapata delivered 150 bags of fentanyl on several occasions in the City of Hazleton.
Zapata was immediately transported to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.
