Bariatric Session at Hazleton General Hospital
Millions of Americans suffer from the silent killer Obesity. Its a
serious disease with symptoms that build slowly over an extended
period of time. Morbid obesity is where a person is 100 pounds or more
above the ideal body weight for their height, or having a body mass
index of 35 or greater, and are affected by one or more health related
conditions. Bariatric Surgery, often known as weight loss surgery, is
a treatment option for people living with morbid obesity and who are
struggling with successful weight loss. The Northeast Bariatric Center
will hold a free information session on Thursday, February 16 at 4:00
p.m. at the Hazleton General Hospital, Office & Education Building.
Dr. Michael Bono, Bariatric Surgeon and Medical Director of the
Bariatric Center, will review the disease of morbid obesity, the
evolution of weight loss surgery, and surgical options available. The
Bariatric Information Session is free, but space is limited.
