On February 25th, 2021 around 1am, Hazleton City Police responded to the 300 block of W. 1st Street for a report of a male who broke into the complainant’s residence and was inside of the basement.

Upon arrival, Officers observed the actor, identified as Alexander CANN, inside of the basement. CANN was taken into custody without incident. CANN was charged with Criminal Trespass, Possessing Instruments of a Crime, Loitering and Prowling at Nighttime, and Criminal Mischief. CANN was lodged at Luzerne County Correctional Facility for overnight arraignment.



 On Feb. 24, 2021 around 3pm, the Hazleton Police Department received a call for a suspicious vehicle in the area with two individuals sitting inside. On obtaining more information and investigation Ptlm. Hannon initiated a vehicle stop on the aforementioned vehicle, a red Chevrolet Tiburon and identified the two individuals. Ptlm. Cassalia also assisted on scene.

During the course of the investigation determined that the operator, Charles Allen had an active Warrant for Dangerous Drugs, out of South Centre Township Police Department. Police had also checked and learned that he was operating a Vehicle while his License was Suspended, DUI Related and was in possession of a ceramic pipe with marijuana residue. Allen was subsequently taken into custody.

Also, the passenger Richard Krywicki was found to be in Possession of Crystal Meth. He was taken into custody and later released. Charges to be filed on him for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Allen was brought back to City Hall and later released into the custody of South Centre Township Police Department.
