Standing Tall Against Crime
Residents of one community are reaching out to each other and standing tall against crime. Crime that has recently taken over their neighborhood. Dozens of people filled the air with song and prayer Wednesday evening outside of the Immanuel Christian School in Hazleton. The vigil came after recent violence hit the community. Right outside of the Locust Street School, a 25-year-old man was shot several times. Just days later, gunshots hit a home directly across from Immanuel Christian School. A former board member and alumni of Immanuel Christian School organized this event to pray for justice, peace and safety. A crowd of about 100 people joined to pray for their community at the 20-minute service, but when it was over people didn’t scatter, instead they enjoyed the company of their neighbors.
