Man Shot Several Times
Hazleton PA News
Shots rang out Thursday night along a Hazleton City street and this time
A 25-year-old man was hit with bullets several times. The shooting
happened near North Locust and West 11th streets just before 11 p.m.
News 13 talked with neighbors who said they heard about 5 to 6 gun
shots, but stayed in their homes out of fear…then shortly after they
saw police in the area with flashlights collecting evidence and talking
with people about what had happened.
Many were still fearful Friday and did not want to talk on camera to
News 13. News 13 did talk with the lead investigator from the Hazleton
Police Detectives unit who told us the victim, who has not been named,
was taken to the Hospital in a minivan before an ambulance or police
could get there.
We know the victim was hit several times with bullets and was eventually
transported to a trauma center.
Investigators tell us they are following up on leads and as of late
Friday morning did have a person of interest.
Police ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information
to call them by dialing 9-1-1.
This happened near the Immanuel Christian School, reports say.
Several weeks ago, there was a huge police response — 5,6 maybe more police cars plus fire vehicles — in the very same block a little after 2 in the morning.
I never heard anything about what the heck happened.
Wonder if that earlier incident was in some way related to this shooting?
