Bob Nilles Passes

A former Hazleton Councilmen and long time Diamond Fire Company firefighter, Robert Nilles, has passed away. News 13 has learned that Bob passed Thursday night. Bob was very active in the Hazleton community. He served as 2nd Assistant Fire Chief for the Diamond for many years and currently was serving as Financial Secretary for the company. Bob served on Hazleton City Council for 8 years. We talked with City Councilmen Jack Mundie who told us, “It was an honor to serve with Bob, he cared about the city and put his heart and soul into council and the city. He will be missed by so many, he was an excellent councilmen who put Hazleton first.”
