$130,000 Raised for Helping Hands

Hazleton PA News

130 thousand dollars plus was the amount of money raised Saturday making
the 29th Annual Helping Hands Society Telethon one of the most
successful yet. Back home in Hazleton at the Laurel Mall, The Telethon
was once again filled with great entertainment, dozens of wonderful
volunteers working the phones taking pledges, a busy TV crew from WYLN
35 and a number of hosts who, for 11 hours, asked everyone watching at
home to call in donations. Including our own Kristen Buczynski and her
little man Nathan who is actually a Helping Hands graduate. When it was
all said and done, the final tote board shocked many and brought along
lots of tears. 130 thousand dollars all due to the generosity of Greater
Hazleton Residents and businesses from Danny and the Juniors to The
Green Mountain Boys, The Chords, Caryn Lutz, Lady A and Destiny and so
many more the entertainment on the main stage was second to none. For
those of you who were unable to tune in and make a pledge on Saturday
can still do so by calling Helping Hands at 455-4958 and don’t forget to
always check out Helping Hands Society’s Website and like the school’s
facebook page. An enormous thank you to everyone who helped make the
Telethon a complete success. The Helping Hands Society is a non profit
school for children with Disabilities and a preschool for typical
children, also offering a unique Helper Program for school age children
who need a little help in certain areas.
