Minersville Man Charged With Attempted Homicide
No good deed seems to go unpunished. That at least what happend to Ezequiel Zavala Pantoja. He lent 24-year-old Warren Frey 20 bucks last week. When Frey asked Pantoja for some money, Frey noticed he had a large wad of cash in his wallet. Frey also knew where Pantoja was sleeping that night at 215 Laurel Street.
So Frey and two other suspects broke into his room on the third floor of the Laurel Street apartment building. A second male suspect was wearing a black ski mask, although police later identified him as Robert Franklin Willie the third. Police say the two men threatened Pantoja at knife-point to give him money. But Pantoja refused.
Meanwhile, a third suspect, Ashley Capiga, allegedly went through his pants that were lying on the floor, to find $2,200 dollars. The stole the money and ran.
Frey has a past criminal history and is a multiple state offender. He was charged with theft in 2008, corruption of minors in 2011 and criminal impersonation in 2012. He’s being charged with attempt to commit criminal homicide, and other related charges. Meanwhile, Pantoja is expected to make a full recovery.
Police are still searching for the second male suspect, Willie. If you have any information about his whereabouts, police ask you give them a call.
