Drugs Wanted!

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and local police departments
are giving the public another chance to rid their homes of potentially
dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.*
*Residents can dispose of their medications free of charge, anonymously,
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 29th at the following locations:
Hazleton at Giant Food Store
McAdoo Police Department in Borough Building
Tamaqua Municipal Building
The Summit Hill Police Department
Frackville State Police Barracks
Ashland at the North Schuylkill High School
Last April, Americans turned in 276 tons – of prescription drugs at more
than 5,600 sites nationwide. Rates of prescription drug abuse in the
United States are alarmingly high, as are the number of accidental
poisonings and overdoses due to these drugs.
