Butler Township Hires Full Time Cop

Butler Township’s new full time police officer will officially start the
job Wednesday evening. Brett Brown was sworn in at Thursday night’s
supervisor’s meeting. Brown was the highest scoring in the department’s
search for a full time officer and was Butler Township’s top choice for
the job. Brown, who formally worked as Sugarloaf’s full time police
officer, makes up for the loss of former chief, Charlie Altmiller.
Altmiller was replaced by the then Sergeant Dave Pavelko who is now the
chief of Butler. This hire should bring the department up to full
status. Bob Minnick was recently hired in Sugarloaf and will most likely
be Brown’s replacement on that force.
